We get emails updating the progress at the Pete Dye Wildlife Sanctuary. Here's the latest from Supt. Apple:
Sept. 2: I thought the Kids might be interested. We have Germination! It will obviously take a while to flower but we are on our way…
Sept. 26 On my rounds on the golf course today I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw on the students plot. One lone flower opened today and hundreds to follow shortly. Notice the difference in germination. We Seeded the remainder of the plots in the background the same day that the students were here. The only difference is that we irrigated the students plot to increase our chances of successful germination and let nature water the other areas.
