Yesterday Mrs. Apple showed us a video about the bees arriving at the Pete Dye and Donald Ross Courses!

Mrs. Apple showed us a cool bee video yesterday. It was showing the workers at The Pete Dye Golf Course releasing bees into the course. We saw the bees from up close and far away. The honeycomb that held the Queen Bee was marked blue. It was very very interesting. It’s also very awesome to see the difference we have made this year. Russ also built a greenhouse for some flowers. It always makes me glad when we see and hear Russ’s responses. I’m so glad that we could change so much in so little time. This year has been very great.
P.S. Don’t stop planting flowers, because every bit counts!

We watched a video that Russ wanted us to watch. It was about bees. Why? Because they bought some for the Pete Dye! Russ even said, “We are bee keepers”. So, Dad,can we get some bees? Please.

Mrs. Apple showed us a bee video yesterday. It showed the new bees in the hives at the Donald Ross Course. They put a piece of tape on the Queen Bee so that they could identify her. She has a certain smell that does something to the other bees, so the beekeepers had to put her in a separate container. All of the bees were buzzing at the same time and were really loud! I really enjoyed this video!

As you already know, we planted plants for bees and the environment at the Pete Dye Golf Course. We have made a big impact there ever since. Mrs. Apple’s son, Russ has added a lot of things to help increase the bee population on both the Dye and Ross courses. At the Dye course, he made a greenhouse FULL of flowers for the bees to pollinate and bought bees! Like REAL BEES! He got some bees on the Donald Ross one, too. Mrs. Apple showed us a video of the beekeepers adding the bees on the Ross. I think it was so cool that they had a compartment where they kept the Queen bee. I think we made a BIG change with our little project.
